There has been an enormous amount of activity during the off season and many exciting changes for our club. On behalf of our dedicated committee we hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable year with all games played in the intended spirit and sportsmanship.
In 2022 the Saints A Grade netball team came away with the flag!
We welcome to the club the new management and staff from the Palm and Pawn who have continued with our great partnership and remain our Premier sponsor in 2023. We have had many years working closely together in a rewarding partnership for both parties and this year promises to be more of the same. We also welcome back our other key club sponsors, Superior Food Services, and we warmly welcome new sponsors Doona Downs Rural Contracting, Hamblin Solar and Gavin Fairman Homes. The club is extremely grateful to all our sponsors large and small for their support. Please check out all the details of our fantastic sponsors which are available under the ‘Sponsors’ tab via our website or on our social media and be sure to support their businesses when out and about shopping or require excellent local services.
Our Club membership is the envy of many others and we are constantly looking at initiatives to further increase this strong base. With numbers of over 800, made up of players and supporters and followers, we are in a strong position to offer a welcoming, family-friendly environment. We proudly have over 300 players competing in junior and senior football and netball competitions.
All information about the club throughout the year will be posted on our Social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and website so “Like" these pages to ensure that you are provided with all the information as it comes to hand. We also have Facebook groups for all junior football age groups. If you aren't in your child's group as yet ask your coach to invite you! Junior netball groups
This year we have some exciting fundraising activities, starting with our Wednesday and Friday night meat raffles at the Palm & Pawn, the annual Red Black and White Ball and our “300 Club” reverse draw. These ventures help keep our great club ticking along and providing uniforms, kit and equipment for our club. There will be more fundraising announcements coming soon!
It’s important to remember what draws us to North Wagga AFNC Saints as a community-based Football and Netball Club. The club has a long and proud history and offers a unique experience to our local community. Our community-based alignment to the Northern Suburbs of Wagga means our teams are built upon the foundations of school and community-based friendship rather than forced grading. This helps us build life-long friendships not just amongst our players, but our parents as well.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our committed club volunteers, who willingly dedicated their time as committee members, coaches and managers, and assisting in other club activities. Some of our volunteers no longer have children playing at the club but still unselfishly give up their time for the benefit of North Wagga AFNC and our junior players. The club only runs successfully due to the commitment of these volunteers, and we thank you in advance for another successful and enjoyable season.
There are many opportunities at the club for volunteers to become involved and make a difference, so please do not hesitate to contact the club or one of our committee members if you would like to help and join a great team. Particular roles that we would like to immediately fill are Junior Netball Co-Ordinator and Grants Officer. If you believe that you could spare a little time to help in one of these roles, then please contact the club.
As a grassroots club, we rely on the support of our community and ask all parents to get behind their teams and their club, and to help with club fundraising activities, Canteen rosters, field set-up, time keeping etc. when it is time to do so. Without your support we cannot succeed!
Finally, we hope you all enjoy a fun and successful season and look forward to seeing you all around the grounds!
